Our Thanksgiving was held this year together with Chris and Mandy at their home in Mainville, OH. Chris has unfortunately been severely affected by the disease 2015 and fighting continued to recover after a trip to the hospital. Chris was diagnosed with lung disease “before”, but also struggling with the effects of cancer treatment last year.

Lise and I decided to celebrate Thanksgivng with Chris and Mandy, partly to be able to enjoy a few days in each others company, but also to spread a little joy and help lift the spirits of those after the last treatment.

Thursday morning at. 07:20 we left therefore Point of Rocks (new record for the family Madsen?, even though the girls were unhappy with having to get up early on a day off :-)). We arrived at our Hotel Hampton Inn pm. 14:30. We could clearly notice that it was a bank holiday and therefore virtually no traffic.

The hotel was to our surprise either brand new or also just been renovated but some lovely large rooms, so no problem for those who usually sleep on our packed luftmadrass. When Chris had to work a few hours Thursday night was dinner at the pizza as it had previously been agreed to eat Thanksgiving dinner on Friday.

Mandy have done a nice Thanksgivng lunch with turkey and whatever else belongs to. Girls (Mette og Sarah) spent a few hours in the morning in the hotel swimming pool, although the water was cold…

The rest of the afternoon could be relaxing in the warmth and coziness with us, watch TV or with their packed electronics. if, and.. the opportunities children have today.

On Saturday afternoon we went back again to Maryland in the rain and wind. There was some traffic on the way home, but we avoided though the rough storms which may have read about in the news. We were home around noon. 22.00.
