It's Christmas is cool, it is now to enjoy themselves most – sings MC Einar each year on the radio in Denmark and is the time in the month of December we all look forward with glow and expectations. Again yesterday stood for us to bustle to the last. The girls last day of school was the 23 December and I worked until at. 18.00. Lise had Christmas party with her work on 22. December, but was busy most of the day with the final details for Christmas dinner and together with Sarah lie finishing touches to have to decorate the Christmas tree.
On the morning of Christmas Eve went Lise and the girls then started making Christmas candy as the girls later in the day were busy sharing with neighbors. It is a tradition here in the US, that swapping Christmas candy and cake on Christmas Eve.
Mette and Sarah were busy painting the cookies with colored glaze, while Trine made confections.
For lunch had Lise made the most beautiful Christmas table with all the wonderful things that belong to Christmas. Fish, herring, meatballs and meat from the butcher.
The afternoon went by wrapping the last presents, and that Lise prepared a nice Christmas dinner for all of us. So even though there was bustle to the last we were able to relax with a nice Christmas dinner at. 18.00.
The girls had prepared a Christmas concert for us as they had looked forward to argue for us after dinner.
The girls respectively played their instruments and sang American carols as they had done in part at home, but also during the month of December in the school. Then there was the rice à l'impératrice where their father in years went almond gift, before we had to dance around the Christmas tree and started with what everyone had been waiting with excitement. Namely that nu Christmas gifts. Below a picture of the girls and their gifts. A roof to the family for gifts partly Lise and I, but also for girls.
pm. 22:30 we have opened all the presents and now sat in the living room surrounded by gifts and gift paper. It was Trine who said that the bell was not more. Lise and I both thought that we were closer to midnight. As a novelty for us overall the girls their gifts together and disappeared up their rooms. So could their old parents nicely sit himself down on the ground and drink coffee and enjoy the last of our Advent wreath.
Later, Mette and I, however, started to install her new Skylanders game on our Wii in the basement.
Trine and Sarah had packed themselves into their new carpeting in their rooms and at. 23:30 Sarah said that she wanted to bed. She was tired, but conversely it of course, been some long school day until Christmas break.
On Christmas Day we all slept long, but eventually we had to down to see if Santa had visited during the night.
It is also the first year Lise and I have not been moving out of bed early when the girls are woken for them to open their gifts. There is no doubt for us that they have been earlier which of course is nice. Trine had chosen to sleep almost for dinner, so Mette and Sarah opened their gifts first.
All three girls were given blankets of Santa Claus. Kan forstå at man ikke kan havde tæpper nok i deres alder 🙂
At the end of our Christmas greeting, I enclose are few pictures of Lise's beautiful decorations as she did in early December. Hope everyone had a great Christmas Eve.
Merry Christmas from the family Madsen
